Jointly Building the “Belt and Road” to Safeguard International Cooperation

On the morning of October 21, the "2026 'Belt and Road' Initiative Partner Countries Business Community Visit to Liaocheng & International Economic and Trade Cooperation Development Conference"—jointly hosted by the Liaocheng Municipal Committee of the CPC, the Liaocheng Municipal Government, and the Shandong Council for the Promotion of International Trade—was held at the city’s conference and reception center. The event was attended by government officials and business representatives from various countries, including Argentina and Nigeria, as well as representatives from several key enterprises based in Liaocheng.

At present, the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" has entered a new stage of high-quality development. It is hoped that this event will help further expand the areas of cooperation between Liaocheng and "Belt and Road" partner countries, innovate cooperation models, enhance the quality of collaboration, and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes—ultimately ensuring the steady and long-term progress of high-quality "Belt and Road" cooperation.

The Shandong Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) will continue to leverage its role as a bridge connecting government and enterprises, linking domestic and international markets, and facilitating the alignment of supply and demand. By building more platforms and providing superior services, the Council aims to deepen and substantiate economic and trade cooperation between Shandong and "Belt and Road" partner countries, working together to write a new chapter of mutually beneficial cooperation.

In recent years, Liaocheng has diligently implemented the decisions and strategic deployments of the CPC Central Committee, as well as major national strategies. By deeply engaging in the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" Initiative, the city has leveraged proactive services to invigorate market entities, utilized platforms to facilitate the global expansion of local industries, and embraced an open stance to broaden international cooperation. Liaocheng has established economic and trade ties with 205 countries and regions, earned a place among the nation’s top 100 cities for foreign trade 12 times, and left a distinct mark of "Intelligent Manufacturing from Liaocheng" within the global value chain.

Taking this conference as an opportunity, Liaocheng looks forward to strengthening exchanges and cooperation with all parties. With connectivity as a priority, cultural exchange as the soul, and collaboration as a bridge, the city aims to jointly explore new horizons for open cooperation, foster new benchmarks for mutual learning among civilizations, and build a new ecosystem for industrial development—thereby contributing even more of Liaocheng’s strength to the high-quality joint construction of the "Belt and Road" Initiative.

At the event, representatives from the business communities of Romania and Senegal delivered remarks, expressing a desire to deepen exchanges and cooperation with Liaocheng. Argentina, Zambia, Brunei, and Liaocheng itself presented their respective industrial strengths. The Liaocheng International Chamber of Commerce signed strategic cooperation agreements with organizations such as the Argentine Association of Industrial Parks. The event also featured one-on-one matchmaking sessions and corporate training workshops.

During their stay in Liaocheng, business representatives from countries participating in the "Belt and Road" Initiative also visited several local enterprises.
